POMPANO BEACH: ANTIQUE CAR SHOW & OPEN HOUSE COMING TO SAMPLE-MCDOUGALD HOUSE NEXT WEEK
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The historic Sample-McDougald House at Centennial Park in Pompano Beach will host its 9th annual antique and classic automobile show on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 10am to 2pm. More than 50 vehicles will be on display, from a 1915 Model T Ford to 1960s muscle cars. The cars will participate through the Fort Lauderdale chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA).
“These are pristine high-caliber vehicles that wouldn’t normally be seen gathered in one place except at a show like this,” said Jerry Bowman, of the Sample-McDougald House Preservation Society.
The 1916 Sample-McDougald House will be open for guided tours during the car show.
There will be entertainment on the grounds of the house, including a special re-enactment of one of the most famous speeches in American history – the “Infamy Speech” delivered by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1941 after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
“It’s a great service to the community for the AACA and the Sample-McDougald House to provide an event like this that allows you to view show-quality cars and take a tour of the house for a nominal fee of $5 per person,” said Bowman.
Hot dogs, sandwiches and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from a food truck. For more information, contact 954 298-0854 or go to samplemcdougald.org.
