VIRTUAL CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS: With public in-person meetings cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis, Lighthouse Point, Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach are continuing to hold virtual City Commission meetings, and members of the public can participate.

Lighthouse Point and Deerfield Beach will both hold their next virtual City Commission meetings on Tuesday, May 12, at 6:30pm. 

Pompano Beach has scheduled its next virtual City Commission meeting for Tuesday, May 26 at 1pm. 

The Deerfield Beach City Commission is scheduled to discuss the cancellation of Deerfield Beach’s annual Fourth of July celebration and firework display due to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The event has historically drawn between 85,000 to 95,000 attendees.

The Deerfield Beach City Commission meeting will be followed by a Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) meeting at 7pm. The CRA has not a held a meeting since March 10.

The Deerfield Beach City Commission meeting on May 12 is a special meeting that was scheduled in addition to this month’s regular City Commission meetings of May 5 and May 19 at 7pm.

The Pompano Beach City Commission, at its April 28 meeting, voted to hold a single meeting a month at 1pm while under the virtual meeting system. 

Pompano Beach City Commission meetings usually take place on the second Tuesday of every month at 1pm, and the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6pm. The City Commission meeting that would have taken place virtually on May 12 at 1pm has been cancelled. 

Lighthouse Point, Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach have posted detailed instructions on their websites regarding how members of the public can view the virtual City Commission meetings and provide their input.
