Art Live 2015

Art Live Benefit for Broward Children's CenterLighthouse Point Magazine and Greight Spaces are proud to present the upcoming colorful cocktail event and benefit “Art Live 2015” from 5:30 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. The event will take place at the Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club, 2701 NE 42nd St., Lighthouse Point. Tickets include a cocktail and light hors d’oeuvres and cost $20 per person.

Over the course of 90 minutes, four renowned area artists will transform blank canvases into works of art that will be auctioned off to benefit the evening’s charity, Broward Children’s Center. Painting begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. The four artists include Carrie Bennett, a painter, chalk muralist and most recently; art director of “Color the City,” a youth public art initiative that brings color and light to cities; Kris McDermott, an accomplished body artist, wall muralist and fine artist who has experience in everything from wood burning to custom furniture, street art and more; Wendy Nicholas, whose work with color and abstract technique is heavily influence by her memories of places like Australia and Nigeria; and Joao Paulo Goncalves, contemporary artist and owner of Freehouse Collective, an Etsy shop and studio location that specializes in abstract paintings on stretched canvas or wood with acrylic paint.

The event will also include a fashion show with fashions and jewelry courtesy of Body & Soul Boutique, Merry Love Joy, and Stella & Dot.

All ticket sales and auction proceeds will go towards Broward Children’s Center, a nonprofit facility in Pompano Beach that offers health, wellness, education, recreation, therapeutic, daily living and advocacy services to infants, children and young adults with special health care needs. The center’s mission is to promote the health and happiness of those with disabilities.

“Some great artists and sponsors have come together for what is sure to be a fun evening. Get out of the heat and enjoy a cocktail for a good cause.”
