Newsweek magazine recently picked 8 Diving Wonders throughout the World. One of the eight is right here in Pompano Beach. Of course, you probably already knew how great scuba diving in Pompano Beach can be.

The Newsweek article focuses on Shipwreck Park with 16 submerged vessels as one of the key Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach diving options.

The S.S. Copenhagen was a 325-foot long steam boat that ran aground in Pompano Beach way back in 1898.

The Fort Lauderdale area is known as “The Wreck Capital of the World” and Pompano Beach has become a major part of this.  Scuba Diving in Pompano Beach has never been better , with new additions including the Lady Luck, a 324-foot tanker that was sunk off the Pompano Beach coast in 2017.

You’ll find all 8 of Newsweek’s 8 great diving locations here.

This story was prepared by our Pompano Beach news desk.
