[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]There’s lots to do in Pompano Beach this weekend.  Let’s start backwards with Sunday first, because it’s St. Patrick’s Day.

St. Patrick’s Day

Of course, there are plenty of bars and restaurants in Pompano Beach to pick from to party on St. Patrick’s Day.  But, there are two stand-outs that made Top Ten lists for places to party in South Florida.   We’re talking about Briny’s Irish Pub and Galuppi’s on the Green.

Earlier, we reported that Galuppi’s on the Pompano Beach public golf course had been picked by New-Times as one of the ten best places to party in South Florida for St. Patrick’s Day.  It was a great addition to their list and well deserved for the Pompano beach restaurant.  We wondered why Briny’s wasn’t on the list.  Then a couple of days later, the Sun-Sentinel came out with their list for South Florida and sure enough Briny’s was in their top ten.

Briny’s is located on the corner of East Atlantic Blvd. and Briny Avenue in Pompano Beach right by the beach. Briny’s is a true Irish Pub and restaurant and is fun to visit 365-days a year.  March 17th is probably the best day of the year to visit Briny’s.  They’ll have their corn beef and cabbage special and great party music all day (and night) long.

While Briny will be a non-stop party, it is almost low key compared to what is happening at Galuppi’s on North Federal Highway in Pompano Beach.

The festivities will kick off at 9 am.  You’ll enjoy their special menu which features: Corned Beef on Rye served with French fries & pickle, Corned Beef & Cabbage served with red Irish potatoes and also Split Pea Soup.  (I think my Jewish grandmother would disagree that Split Peas soup is an Irish delicacy, but at least it is green).  And, speaking of green…there will be green beer pouring all day long.  And, Galuppi’s entertainment schedule will feature two stages of bands all day and evening.

Classy Stuff (Culture and Art)

All this weekend, theOutré Theatre Company presentation of “Next Fall” continues at The Pompano Beach Cultural Center on Atlantic Boulevard, next to Pompano Beach City Hall.  The production has been running since the beginning of the month and will run on weekends until March 31st.  We’ve got a full write-up here.
