One of the bigger issues being debated in Pompano Beach over the past few weeks has been the zoning change allowing two 205 feet towers to be built, primarily as high end condos.

The site of the proposed project, known as Ocean Park Beach Residences, is located on a 0.62-acre parcel of land at the southeast corner of the NE 16th Street and A1A intersection, just next to North Ocean Park.  It is an area of A1A that is less dense than the rest of the barrier island road throughout the city and is even right near the only section of oceanfront single family homes in Pompano Beach.

Residents staged several protests but the city commission approved the zoning change that will pave the way for the towers to be built.
