This week, we suggest ….

Broad Street Deli

This Pompano Beach deli is nothing to kvetch about. The restaurant is cozy and colorful – the walls are painted with a large and delicious food-themed painting. Broad Street Deli offers a variety of traditional deli soups and sandwiches including matzo-ball soup and Ruebens. For the early birds of Pompano Beach, they also offer a full brunch menu complete with large, fluffy pancakes and rich omelets.

Pros:

  • Offers a wide variety of deli sandwiches and traditional Jewish foods
  • Deli food is rich and will leave you satisfied for the rest of the day

Kin Asian Street Food

This strip-mall nook tucked away in Pompano Beach offers enough flavor and flair to impress any diner. The pork buns are rich and stuffed with anything from rich pork belly to savory portobello mushrooms. The ramen is packed to the rim with luscious noodles, bamboo shoots and a variety of flavorful broths. We also recommend the boba tea – sweet milk tea with chewy tapioca pearls. The perfect dining spot for the adventurous eater with a large stomach.

Pros:

  • Large menu with a wide variety of foods
  • Fresh and tasty ingredients

Red Fox Diner

A friendly neighborhood diner with tons of taste and charm, the Red Fox Diner is a cozy little joint right off of Sample Rd. Red Fox has been serving up stacks of flapjacks and juicy burgers to Lighthouse Point residents for over 50 years. The Philly cheese steaks in particular are divine, so come to for their large breakfast and lunch options and leave with a full stomach and a few to-go boxes.

Pros:

  • Classic American diner food
  • Fast service and friendly staff

Cons:

  • Not open for dinner
  • Limited parking in front of the dine

America’s Bakery

America’s Bakery may be tucked away in a strip mall, but it’s bursting with enough color and Colombian spice that you must take notice. We started with the arepa con choclo, buttery fried corn cakes topped with savory queso (cheese for us non-Spanish speakers). What followed was a plethora of grilled steak and plantains and fresh soups and salads that left us wanting more even when we finished our plates. A perfect destination for lovers of filling and flavorful Colombian food.

Pros:

  • A large variety of excellent Colombian food
  • Large portions
  • Friendly service

Cons:

  • Not for people who are on a diet

America’s Bakery is located at 5022 N. Federal Hwy in Lighthouse Point. The Lighthouse Point restaurant is open from 8am – 5pm on Monday through Saturday; 9am – 3pm on Sunday. For more information, call 754-227-7234.
