New Poke Restaurant Coming Soon to Pompano Beach

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]POKE COMPANY POMPANO BEACH RESTAURANTS: The Poké Company will open soon in the New Park Plaza Shopping Center on the east side of Federal Highway just north of the Pompano Beach LA Fitness. While franchise owner Sherine Bahna said she can’t confirm the grand opening date yet, she estimates the location will be open around mid October. The Poké Company is a fast-casual poké restaurant that serves poké bowls and poké burritos.
If you haven’t heard of poké (pronounced ‘poh-keh’), it is a Hawaiian cuisine traditionally known as a raw fish salad — essentially a sushi bowl. Diners choose a base for their bowl (white rice, brown rice, cauliflower rice, mixed greens or a combination), then top the base with their choice of fresh, sushi-grade fish, or another protein. Choices include Ahi Tuna, Salmon, Spicy Tuna, Steamed Shrimp; or for non-seafood eaters, chicken or tofu.
Next, diners choose from mix-ins (cucumber, edamame, sweet onion, cilantro, jalapeno and hijiki seaweed); then sauces (the company sauce, citrus ponzu, sesame shoyu, spicy mayo, spicy miso, avocado lime or coconut aminos); then toppings (scallions, sesame seeds, wasabi peas, crispy onions, pickled ginger, tempura flakes, pineapple, eel sauce, spicy mayo, Thai coconut cream, wasabi aioli, masago (fish roe), seaweed salad, avocado, or krab salad).
These options are also available in a burrito. As one diner put it, poké is like “the Chipotle of sushi.”
The Poké Company currently has two locations in Boca Raton (one East, one West); and a location in Des Moines, Iowa. The company is soon to open multiple other locations in Florida (in Wellington, Tampa and Pompano Beach); and one in Marietta, Georgia.
The Poke Company Pompano Beach location will be one of the first businesses to open in the new Park Plaza Shopping Center. As of May, Joesph Scarfone, the real estate broker handling the property, said six businesses had signed, or agreed to sign, leases in the plaza: GNC, Luxe Nail Spa, Clean Juice, The Poké Company, Baptiste Yoga, 1500 Dental and a high-end CBD company that sells natural products.
“We’re excited about it,” said Scarfone who said his vision for the plaza is to create a well-rounded strip of businesses that offers families one location to do multiple things — get their nails done, have lunch, work out and buy supplements.
“We like the direction its going in,” he said.
The property has a total of 16 spaces for lease with a total of 26,942 square-feet of leasable area and 130 parking spaces. The spaces lease for approximately $35 to $40 per square foot.

Pompano! Magazine recently interviewed Pompano Beach’s franchise owner Sherine Bahna to get a little bit of her history and what diners can expect at The Poké Company. This is what she said:
” My partner, Akram Girgis, and I, Sherine Bahna, both live in Palm Beach County and have lived there for several years. We have both been involved in other businesses outside of the food service industry. We became interested in the fast casual restaurant franchise business, and we thought what better than The Poké Company, as we are both poke lovers! From the moment we stepped into The Poké Company one day for lunch, it was ‘love at first sight!’ We loved the layout of the store, the service, the food and the overall concept.
We feel The Poké Company sets themself apart from other poke restaurants in the quality of their ingredients and their amazing sauces. Their salmon and tuna are always fresh, sauces are made in house, and ingredients prepped daily. Also, most of the ingredients are included and don’t charge extra for every addition. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff also makes for a great dining experience.
What we want people to know about our business is that they will always be greeted with a smile and friendly staff, the finest ingredients will be used to make the best poke bowl in town, and that their satisfaction will be guaranteed.
We chose Pompano Beach for our location because we felt there were a lot of great businesses up and coming in that area, and we felt it was a great location to introduce our poke concept. The plaza itself is brand new and we feel we’ll fit in very well with the other retailers in that plaza.
We anticipate opening this location late Fall, maybe around mid October 2019.”
