[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Pompano Beach Historical Society will host its 10th annual Casino Night fundraiser on Nov. 16 at Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA) in Old Town.

This year’s theme, “An Evening in Macau,” is a nod to the southern Chinese resort city known for its giant casinos, and nicknamed the “Las Vegas of Asia.”

The evening will begin at 6pm with a cocktail hour and dim sum appetizers (small steamed or fried savory dumplings containing various fillings), followed by a catered Chinese dinner.

Two dancing and “dueling” dragons will perform a brief show, and lead guests from the dining area into the “casino.”

There will be cash raffles for a gift basket and two tickets to ride on the Goodyear blimp.

Tickets are $75 per person, which includes dinner; an open bar serving beer, wine and a specially themed cocktail; entertainment; and 200 chips to play the tables (extra chips will be available for purchase). A discounted ticket price is available for tables of 10.

Tickets can be purchased online at the Pompano Beach Historical Society’s website, www.pompanohistory.com, or in person at the historical society, 217 NE Fourth Ave., Pompano Beach. For more information contact Pat Rowley at 954-782-3015 or info.pompanohistory@gmail.com.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to carry out the Pompano Beach Historical Society’s mission of collecting, preserving and publicizing the history of the Greater Pompano Beach area.

The historical society accomplishes this mission through its archives of historical documents and images; public programs and lecture series; museum exhibits, displays and publications; advocacy for the preservation of historical sites and buildings; and the Pompano Beach Saturday Green Market.
