[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]POMPANO BEACH CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:  Thursday night the City announced it will be cancelling or postponing public gatherings, effective Monday, March 16, 2020.

After several delays, the City had also planned to have a big grand opening for the Fisher Family Pier sometime this month.  Those plans are now on hold.

The official release from the City says:

All events, meetings (including City Commission Meetings) and programs in City facilities will be cancelled or postponed until after April 1st.

The City continues to monitor and collaborate with local, state and federal agencies regarding the Coronavirus and will evaluate future actions necessary to protect the health and well-being of our residents and visitors.

Mayor Rex Hardin has already issued a proclamation declaring a public health emergency. This allows the City to take any and all protective actions necessary to protect our employees and the public to the best of our ability.

A 24 hour Florida Department of Health call center is available at 866-779-6121 or email COVID-19@flhealth.gov.

As election day is approaching, the latest word is polling centers will remain open for early voting and on Election Day on March 17th. In addition to the presidential primary, there are important local amendments on the ballot.  To get an understanding of those issues, click here

The City’s website www.pompanobeachfl.gov offers several Coronavirus informational links and our website will have more Pompano Beach Coronavrius updates as warranted.  For specific event information, we recommend you check the event website before you go, as the expectation is more events will likely be canceled in the coming days.
