Some Pompano Beach news updates on construction projects and new restaurants in Pompano Beach.

The Atlantic Blvd. intracoastal bridge has been progressing as scheduled.  Kudus to the team for making sure that the major lane closing construction occurred during off-peak season.  More often than not, construction delays lead to road closures during snowbird season, and those two things never mix well.  In addition to boring but needed structural improvements, the new bridge will be a landmark of sorts and will create a  walkway going under the east side of the bridge, creating a pleasant walking and jogging experience.  The work is about two-thirds done and completion is expected by early summer.

The Pompano Beach Fishing Pier is also getting close to completion.  The new pier will be more hurricane resistant and also create another visual landmark for the city.  It may be opened to the public as soon as May.

One construction project that has seen its share of delays is the Oceanic restaurant.  The builder is now looking for a late spring/early summer opening.  We will keep you posted.  Once it opens, Oceanic will make a nice companion to the Pompano Beach House.  The Beach House has been a huge success since opening last year and is located next door to Oceanic, right on the ocean, just north of the Pier.

In the meantime, a couple of new restaurants for you to check out.

In a recent column, we talked about the growing Brazilian community and Mayor Rex Hardin’s efforts to better serve that community.  Circling back to the growing influence and importance of the Brazilian community in Pompano Beach, Borogodó Florida Brazilian Grill, 7 SE 22nd Ave recently opened.  Can’t wait to check them out.

And Fish is the new eatery at the Marriott Pompano Beach Resort and Spa.  It replaced McCoy’s, which had decent food but never really caught on.  The hotel is making a major push to make And Fish a success and so far, I’ve heard has been positive.  We won’t even hold it against them that the unusual name makes it look like we haven’t proof read the column.

You can always find Pompano Beach restaurant reviews in our Pompano Beach City Guide.  And stay tuned, we’ll have a complete profile of review of And Fish in the next issue of Pompano! Magazine and her on our website.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”7098″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
