ISLE CASINO REDEVELOPMENT IN POMPANO BEACH: PLANS FOR A TOPGOLF ENTERTAINMENT VENUE ARE UNDER REVIEW

ISLE CASINO TOPGOLF VENUE: A Topgolf sports entertainment venue is being proposed as part of the redevelopment of the Isle Casino Pompano Park property into Live! Resorts Pompano – a large-scale mixed-use project that includes entertainment, retail, dining, hotel, residential, office and logistics components.
Plans for the Topgolf facility have been submitted to the City of Pompano Beach and are currently under review.
The proposed Topgolf facility would occupy an approximately 11-acre vacant parcel on the southeast corner of SW 3rd Street (Racetrack Road) and SW 23rd Ave (Lucky Lane), north of the existing Isle Casino building.
The Topgolf venue would feature a state-of-the-art three-level building that includes 102 climate-controlled hitting bays for year-round play, a full-service restaurant and bar, entertainment and event space, outdoor seating and dining areas, and a rooftop terrace.
Adjacent to the building, there would be an outfield golf driving range where players of all ages and skill levels can take aim at giant dartboard-like targets using micro-chipped golf balls that score themselves, providing instant feedback on each shot’s accuracy and distance. The outfield would be surrounded by 170-foot-high netting.
The Topgolf venue would also include a separate miniature golf area measuring approximately 9,870 square feet.
According to the site plan, a parking area with 295 spaces would be provided for the Topgolf venue.
The Isle Casino Pompano Park, located on a 223-acre site at the southeast corner of Powerline Road and Racetrack Road, is currently being rebranded as Harrah’s Pompano Beach, which includes expanding and renovating the existing casino facility.
Live! Resorts Pompano, which is being developed by The Cordish Companies in partnership with Caesars Entertainment, owner and operator of Isle Casino Pompano Park, will complement and encompass the casino facility.
The Topgolf facility would be constructed by ARCO/Murray, a national design-build contractor with an office in Fort Lauderdale.
Topgolf is a global sports entertainment company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The first Topgolf location opened in Watford, England in 2000. Currently, there are approximately 70 Topgolf facilities throughout the United States, as well as a number of facilities in international locations, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Mexico and Dubai. In South Florida, there are Topgolf facilities in Miami Gardens and Doral.
Topgolf facilities typically offer golf lessons, leagues, tournaments, concerts, and corporate and social events.
Currently, the City of Pompano Beach is also reviewing site plans for other components of the Live! Resorts Pompano project – an e-commerce distribution center, an entertainment complex and a retail development that includes a Publix.
