Just a few days ago we reported that Galuppi’s on the Green restaurant on the Pompano Beach public golf course had been chosen by South New-Times as one of the ten best places to party in South Florida for St. Patrick’s Day. We thought that was a great addition to the list and well deserved for the Pompano beach restaurant/hot spot. We also wondered where Briny’s Irish Pub was on the list.
Briny’s on the corner of West Atlantic Blvd. and Briny Avenue is the only Briny’s left in Broward County as the famed Fort Lauderdale spot closed earlier this year. We noted that Briny’s is a true Irish Pub and restaurant and that it is a hoot to visit 365-days a year. Of course, March 17th is probably the best day of the year to visit Briny’s
We weren’t alone in our thinking. Phillip Valys, Sun-Sentinel reporter was on the same wave length. He commented, “We come for the Irish-blooded vibe and the once-a-year corned beef cabbage ($16) at this seaside tavern… To drink here is to be surrounded as much by chummy local drinkers as old-Florida décor (thick ropes, life preservers, photos of people holding thick ropes and life preservers).” Briny’s will no doubt be a blast all day long.
As for Galuppi’s, here are the highlights of their celebration:
