The organizers of the 2022 Formula 1 schedule have finished the logistical nightmare of deciding how the world’s most expensive traveling circus will crisscross the globe. Organizers of the Formula 1Miami Grand Prix have confirmed the dates for the event to be May 6-8 2022.

Tom Garfinkel, Miami Grand Prix Managing Partner, said “there has been tremendous enthusiasm and anticipation for this event, and we’re happy to be able to announce the date so that people can start planning for it.” As with all Formula 1 Grands Prix, the event will be split over three days; Practice on Friday, Qualifying on Saturday and the Grand Prix on Sunday.

In the coming weeks, organizers are expecting to unveil a plethora of ticketing and hospitality options. Miami Grand Prix CEO, Richard Cregan, said “the circuit construction is progressing in line with expectations, and now that we have our date confirmed with Formula 1, we can rapidly follow up with revealing more of the detail of the experience that will be enjoyed at the trackside which will make this a truly stand-out addition to the calendar. This location is already well known for creating unforgettable experiences for events like the Super Bowl and Miami Open. We look forward to embracing an entirely new global sporting occasion.”

This will be the first time Formula 1 races in Florida since the 1959 United States Grand Prix at Sebring, which happened to be the first time that Formula 1 raced in the United States. It has basically been an entire lifetime since the last Formula 1 Grand Prix in The Sunshine State, so go see the circus while it is in town.
