The Pier 6 Rooftop open-air lounge at the Hilton hotel in the Pompano Beach Fishing Village is now open, offering direct views on the ocean. Opening hours are 5pm-10pm every day.

The drinks menu of the Pier 6 Rooftop features specialty cocktails ($11), mojitos and margaritas ($10), frozen margaritas and daiquiris ($11), and draft, bottled or canned beers ($5.50-$9). There is also a selection of wines ranging from $7-$12 per glass to $27-$47 per bottle.

According to Kelly Matera, the assistant general manager of the hotel who has been spearheading operations at the Pier 6 Rooftop, the most popular drinks so far are the coconut mojito (coconut rum, lime juice, syrup and mint leaves), the Pier 6 Tropical Mule (Tito’s handmade vodka, passion fruit, Habanero bitters, lime juice and ginger beer), and the Pompano Margarita (tequila, agave, club soda, lime). The most popular wine by the glass and bottle is Ruffino Lumina Pinot Grigio ($7 per glass, $27 per bottle).

Happy hour drink specials are from 5pm-7pm Sunday through Thursday, with mojitos at $6, frozen drinks at $7, draft beer at $5 and wine by the glass (pinot grigio or merlot) at $6.

On Wednesdays only, from 5pm-10pm, bottles of wine are half-price.

The Pier 6 Rooftop lounge at the Hilton hotel will also have a menu of appetizers (including flatbreads, shrimp cocktail and mahi or chicken tacos), as well as desserts (chocolate molten bundt cake, key lime pie and creme brûlée cheesecake).

Matera said the majority of patrons who frequent the Pier 6 Rooftop are locals.

Live music is planned for Thursday nights, with a different band performing each week. The music will likely be tropical, steel drums and an ‘oldies’ night.

“We’ll see what the locals like,” said Matera.

A large open-air space adjacent to the rooftop lounge is available for hosting parties, weddings or corporate events.

The five-story dual-brand Hilton hotel at the Pompano Beach Fishing Village began renting rooms on June 30, and is now fully operational. The 150-room hotel – which pairs Home2 Suites by Hilton and Tru by Hilton under the same roof – is located at 200 N. Ocean Blvd.
