[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Pompano Beach High School was named the best high school in Broward County, according to U.S. News & World Report. The school also ranked twentieth in the state and 202 across the country.

The magnet school is located at located at 600 NE 13th Ave, in Pompano Beach and has approximately 1,200 students coming from the Pompano Beach area and throughout the county.

As per Wikipedia: Pompano Beach High School [previously referred to as] Pompano High School, Pompano Beach Senior High School and The Pompano Beach High School Institute of International Studies) is a full magnet high school… instruct[ing] grades 9 through 12.[It was] founded in 1928 [and] is the second oldest high school in the Broward School District. Pompano Beach High received an FCAT … [score] of “A” for the 2013–14 academic year. [It] has maintained an “A” ranking for 11 of the 12 years since the [FCAT} score-based system [was introduced for] the 2001–02 academic school year.”

According to U.S. News and World Report, “Pompano Beach High School is ranked 20th within Florida. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® coursework and exams. The AP® participation rate at Pompano Beach High School is 97%. The total minority enrollment is 55%, and 45% of students are economically disadvantaged.”

The report listed the School for Advanced Studies in Homestead as the top school in South Florida. It was also the second highest ranked high school in the state and came in at 26th in the nation.

The top school in the state, according to U.S. News, remains Pine View School in Sarasota . The honor for best school in the country belongs to Academic Magnet High School in Location: North Charleston, South Carolina.
